Would Karzoug be aware of the PCs having the dominate weapons? I believe he would know of the 1st one created (since he was able to activate his statue in Runeforge as a result). Would he know of the others that were created? His arcane sight would allow him to "see" the auras generated by those weapons?
After spying on them for at least 2 books, he wouldn't waste his transmutation spells on the PCs with dominate weapons, but I want it be logical that he's aware of them (don't want to "hand wave GM power that he knows, ok").
EDIT: Karzoug has arcane sight, so he would "see" the items but not close enough to identify them. Would he be familiar enough with that aura to know what they are at range?
Karzoug is a genius.
He knows that the pc's have been messign about in the runeforge , he has observed them since then , he could have cast Contact Other Plane and asked. Unless the pc's have superb protection against Divination and have never displayed the abilities against karzougs minions he knows about it.
My players just assumed he would know , and were happy that he could not use offensive transmutation against them which renders his bonus spell slots less useful as well as any feats like spell focus he may have.

Karzoug knows when the first dominant weapon is created. He animates a statue in Runeforge and tries to kill the pc's. Assuming that fails, he retreats/is dispelled. Nothing says the same mechanism that told him about the first one would not tell him about others. It also seems to me that it would not take a 36(!!!) intelligence to deduce that the pc's are likely to make more.
Further, the Dominant weapons have a strong aura of Enchantment and Illusion. Something as simple as a detect magic will reveal that. Again, doesn't take a supra-genius to figure out what those are. Sure it's hypothetically possible a weapon might have those two auras and not be Dominant, but in the hands of enemies he knows have been to Runeforge and definitely made at least one?
I don't see any reason for Karzoug not to assume every pc has a dominant weapon until conclusively demonstrated otherwise.
He has a Intelligence of 36. Any metagaming you do is covered by the fact that he's more prepared than Batman.LMAO! Thank you. That really puts it into perspective.
