Question on how to best get interest in a game, being a player

Advice

Ok I've been bouncing an idea around for awhile and wanted advice.

I've always loved playing non core races ranging from wyvaran to obitu. And I had an idea, a kingmaker campaign where the party could only be non core races and the entire campaign would be based around creating a haven for such creatures and building a society around the unique interactions internally and of course the conflict externally (because what society wouldn't find that worrying?). And how the formation of such a place would effect and fit into the pathfinder world. I don't have DM experience and would honestly like to be a player in this and was curious what I could possibly do to cultivate interest in it/catch the eye of people.

Trying to force a campaign concept on someone else will only lead to disappointment for both you and the gm. Honestly it's unlikely the gm will play the concept in a way you'll like or hold true to the way you imagined it.

Every gm starts out as a player, so maybe consider doing a dual gm role or having another more experienced player as a referee gm.

*If you dual gm you can tag in and out of the campaign as each arc closes and play both roles as player/gm.

*Being a gm with another more experienced player as backup gm means you can create the story you want, while having another gm help with rulings. GMing isn't that hard and once you realise how much fun you can give to other players, quite fun.

It's cool that you have a vision. Pitch it to your fellow players / GM and see how it's received. But keep in mind that not everyone will want to share your vision.

If there's disagreement, see if you can find a middle-ground. Maybe half the kingdom has core-races, so the other players can choose Human race. But maybe the other half of the kingdom is non-core race.

Welcome to the frustration of thousands of gamers before you. MANY MANY campaigns have been started with the gm running the game they truly want to play in. There isn't really an easy way to do this. The truth is, the gm has to like the idea, you cant make him interested in it. And if the suggestion of the basic concept doesn't get him moving, you are probably out of luck.

One thing I have done in my group is done a Quid Pro Quo. I run a friends dream game, and they run mine. But this isn't easy to pull off as the gm still has to be excited about it, or the game will peter out fast.
