Ship Power & Blessing Discard Question

Rules Questions and Gameplay Discussion

When you discard a card from the blessings deck to activate a ship's power (such as the Wormwood's 'add 1d12 to your check to defeat a bane or a ship'), does that card become the 'active' blessing? As in, is at now the blessing that is matched by blessings in your hand or copied by Blessing of the Gods? I presume so, but I'm not sure.

Sorry if this has been answered. I searched the FAQ and the forums, but did not find anything.

Once it's discarded, it's the top card on the blessings discard pile. So yes.

Yupperoo. Since the effect is not triggered by the check, the top card of the blessings discard pile is the new one.

This is in contrast to Blessing of the Inheritor shuffling the top card of the blessings discard pile, which is a trigger effect. That happens after the check (I believe).

When anything asks you to look at the top card of the blessings discard pile, it cares about what's on top at that moment, not what *used to be* on top. Cards don't have memories.

Actually it should say top card of the blessing discard rather than top card of the blessing deck no? Anyway that's how we play it. But the "wrong" wording created an issue in our games.

The cards are right—I misspoke, and have fixed my post.

Just kidding Vic. You are doing a TREMENDOUS job.

Thanks everybody. That's what I assumed, but wanted to be certain.
