I hope we can get together at next year's PaizoCon!Well all good things, unfortunately must come to an end. Last day, managed to get a couple more runs of the demo for Mummy's Mask completed and an instruction session on the ACG how to build an Character from a class deck for our very own Walter Sheppard.
I was extremely glad to see people I don't get to see very often as I have started to think of Paizocon as a family reunion. It was a great weekend and I was glad that our son Nathan had a great time at this first Paizocon.
Thank you to the HQ team and all their help. You guys really rocked!!
To the ACG volunteer team: You were a great bunch to work with and I for one think we did an awesome job this weekend. I would be honored to work with all of you again next year.
Thanks to the RPG GMs for all your hard work this year!!
To all those involved in the organization and planning of Paizocon 2016: All of you were fantastic and I thank you for all your hard work in bringing the event to us.
Thank you Painlord for keeping up the Paizocon tradition of this thread. You are awesome!!
Last but not least, I want to thank F Wesley Schneider for all of your valuable advice on Second Darkness.
See you in 2017 (some may be sooner)!!
Oops. I did meet a Nathan at the painting tables, and it was his first Con, too. lol So many people, so little time!

I should probably go to a voice coach to figure out how to talk very loudly (basically, shout) so as to be heard in the PFS room every day without being incredibly hoarse by Sunday. I always wonder if there isn't something that could be done to seriously mitigate the positive feedback loop of escalating sound in there.
My husband was a GM and pretty much lost his voice before Sunday morning! I did and I think it was because of certain things like:
1. I drank MiO water pretty much non-stop (I can't drink unflavored water, sorry).2. I waited until the introductory 'roar' was over in the room before I started reading the scenario out to my players.
3. I leaned forward and my players did as well, and they also cupped their ears towards me to hear better.
4. I spent quite a bit of time in the quiet areas of the hotel or in the "Quiet Room." I tried to talk softly and not often during those times.
I had fun! That's why I was there.

A few tricks I noticed (and used) to help keep your voice through the con:
Try to get a table on the edge. Noise level is lower.
2. Make hand outs, paticularly of the long speechs at the beginning. Even if you still read it, you'll have to repeat yourself less.
3. Ask for a volunteer to run initiative for you. One less thing for you to call out.
4. Hydrate. And a little hot tea between sessions doesn't hurt.

Thank you to everyone for making my first PaizoCon amazing.
Starting off my PaizoCon with Seifter's amazingly developed and thought out First World Problems and following it with the utter chaos that was Cosmo's Spectacular Unfair Railroad was almost more than I could handle.
Meeting everyone that I did, from people I know from the forums (Nefreet), people on staff (Cosmo, Chris Lambertz, Owen, Compton, and our banquet table head Will Chase, etc etc etc), people that just happened to sit down at our tables (our poor GMs Nathan, Delite, and Andy), and seeing the people I knew already again (Painlord, Micah of Texas, LZP, Walter of Louisiana) was great through and through. PaizoCon is great from a people perspective, as everyone you see there has at least one thing in common with you.
A whirlwind of games with a few of my favorite characters (Pathfinder SWAT, my Callistrian Cleric, and my scholar-guarding ranger) including the great Bid for Alabastrine, Sun Orchid Scheme, and the entirety of the Faithless and Forgotten series were great for regular play, though the delve with Tonya, PFS Q&A, and the banquet were nice rest periods from PFS.
Rounded out the entire weekend with great food and conversation with various groups of players and friends, sharing cat photos and listening to the finer points of scotch tasting, a few war stories, comparing weather and climate in our homestates, and finally goodbyes.
PaizoCon was a great experience - I'll be back again next year.

A table of the delve with Linda saw Kyra behead Chief Ripnugget in a gory display for the win. (Hold Person + stupid gecko mount + CdG = BLOOD EXPLOSION EXTRAORDINAIRE) Then I wandered over to the Trapdoor Technologies booth and learned how I can implement the Playbook for my games. Hopefully they'll have my scenarios ready for GenCon.
Thanks for stopping by to check out Playbook! See you at GenCon Steven :D

I think my highlight was getting Mark Seifter to validate my math on what the range of "real" prices of the original Jingasa based on the multiple ways to figure out its price.
It's not often you have a developer discuss what you think might be crazy math called out as one of the possible calculations, and then verifying the other options were correct as well.

After that I hung out in the bar for a while with Andy, and Dragnmoon and his lovely wife Jonna.
On the way back, I see Dragnmoon again, this time with his nice wife, Donna.
Neither of you got my wife's name right, but that is ok it is difficult to get the first time.
Her name is Canan Pronounced Janan.
Great seeing both of you!

Welcome to the community, Kate.
Thank you! My first PaizoCon was AMAZING!
Some of the highlights:
- We B4 Goblins with Crystal Frasier. I'm not sure I've ever laughed so hard.
- The ACG Open Playtest and ACG We Be Goblins with Tanis O'Connor. We Be Goblins was especially fun; I loved the way the dares were implemented.
- The Sunday night special was great! Our table was awesome (including Darran and Eric from San Diego), our GM was awesome, the pre-gens were really fun to play, and the material was really engaging. This was my first special, and I can't wait to play more!
- Delves with Mark Seifter and Nick Logue. Mark turned my Valeros undead, and Nick made sure all of our characters ended up with great merchandising deals!
- The Aethera panel. I'm super excited for this campaign setting.
- The Starfinder announcement!
- All the wonderful people I met. I don't think I can list everyone without this post being absurdly long, but I especially enjoyed getting to meet other freelancers, and Paizo staff were all so approachable.

At this years PaizoCon I had the pleasure of meeting the illustrious Painlord for the first time. With every sense of honesty and sincerity, he is an amazing human being with a caring nature as well as an aura that tends to influence those around you with the sense of wanting to be a better person. I met with the humble author Mike Welham, of Doom Comes to Dust Spawn fame, and had several wonderful conversations with him regarding the gaming industry, life, and some things in between. I got to spend a bit more time with Eric Hindley and Kalyna Conrad who have shown time and again what wonderful, kind, and creatively driven people they are.
I got to play in Erik Mona's Into the Worldscape game and the PFS Special Serpent's Ire. Both games were very fun to be a part of as I tested out my Skald build for Into the Worldscape game and played the Enigma for Serpent's Ire. For a moment I was going to ask Mr. Mona if he wanted to use my character for the background art of the new Pathfinder Comics series but I decided against it for professional reasons.
I will say that David Adams, the GM I had for Serpent's Ire, was one of the best GMs I have ever had in a Pathfinder Society game. He was knowledgeable, great pacing, inclusive, great decision making, and a flair for theatrics. He aired on the side of what was fun without deviating from the scenario and what was written. It was a pleasure to be seated at his table (Lem Table #18).
I learned some rules clarifications while playing in the PACG playtest, and perhaps even impressed Tanis with how far our group came in the playtest :)
I take great joy being a part of this community and if everything falls into place then I will see you all next year. Painlord, you are awesome good sir.
Cheers!!

I will second all of this! I was a little nervous at first when I realized I was playing the team leader, but David (and the rest of the table) made me feel super comfortable, and the whole game was so much fun. Thank you, David!

My group....did not. It was still fun, though.

What happened at my first PaizoCon-
Thursday- Arrived with host and his son, got character [a 6.2 Gnome Sorcerer, Spaknir & 1 Vishkanya Magus, Vyrnon] ready for action packed weekend.
Friday Morning- got grab bag, cracked open my Dungeon's Deep box, and traded my Sundering Axe Dwarf and Idol to someone who got a Reign of Winter box- who already had a complete Reign of Winter set, and i already had those two figures myself.
First game: Serpent's Rise, played as Joliryn. Good thing considering i'm trying to learn how to play a magus. But this credit would have to wait.
Friday afternoon- volunteered to GM School of Spirits and the table managed to get through it without combat. A cleric of Abadar convinced a ghost [20+ Diplomacy roll] to go to afterlife. Abadar
Friday afternoon +2- joined a game of ACG with Painlord- told him i was effectively a ghost in these forums- and played one of the clerics i got in my grab bag.
Friday Night- played up in a game of Blackros Connection with Tony Lindman and his partner. My "Tickle Missiles" [Magic Missile + Laughing Touch (Fey Bloodline 1st lvl power) + Sorcerer Robes] helped in the first fight. Spaknir leveled up and immediately applied Serpent's Rise credit. Off to bed...
Saturday Morning- Played the Confirmation with Vyrnon, and assisted the GM- gave her some ideas.
Another game of the ACG after Confirmation, then off to the store where i spent a lot of money.
Chilled in the room, before seeking out an open game. Instead I ended up blind-running Sun Orchid Scheme. Thankfully, my host- who had been Gmimg that scenario as a Tier 1 GM- was playing and backseat GM'ing. That scenario took awhile, as it a blind run with no prep time, and the PC's plans went t@+$-up. I think they all had fun.
Sunday morning- played Labyrinth of the Hungry Ghosts realizing that i hadn't levelled up Spaknir in terms of new Spells and Feats, so i just chose some spells. Almost died because Spaknir got dropped into a pit in the final fight- and couldn't climb out.
Sunday Afternoon- jumped into a couple ACG games before the special. bought some novels at the store, and took my host- who was GM'ing in the special- to the Denny's so he could relax and begin prepping the Special.
Sunday Evening- Special Time! My table failed the special. we barely got past the second combat when they were calling time. My character failed her secondary objective- failed stealth rolls for days- so i burned a Wounded Wisp boon to get 1 PP. Couldn't apply this credit yet to Spaknir, as he was currently 7.2. Thankfully, he had one more table on Monday.
Went to the room, where we discussed the ups and downs of the Special this year. This was not a Special that could be completed in the 5 hours they allotted. Not unless the party was synced and they rolled amazingly.
Monday morning Deepmarket Deception. Got through it no problem, Spaknir officially became level 8 and applied the Special's credit.
Also spent my reward tokens and claimed a Core Rulebook as my prize for rolling & confirming critical and got doubles of some boons.
Went to the store one final time before heading home.
Had a great time at PaizoCon, and will endeavor to attend next year. :D

I know I'm late to this party but I promised Painlord I would post my impressions of PaizoCon.
This is my third PaizoCon and as always it's a great time. Paizo has grown in remarkable ways and the con is bigger and better every time I've gone.
I spent Thursday relaxing and then went out to dinner with the Wayfinder group. This was a great time and I need to continue to contribute so I can keep hanging out with this amazing crew.
Thursday morning until the banquet (on Saturday) was spent playing PACG in the Great Hall. That's right, all day every day. Sunday was the same, and Painlord was kind enough to share his scotch as we completed the third adventure for the Rise of the Runelords Season.
The banquet was great, and for the first time in years I'm actually excited to run Pathfinder again. I can't wait for Starfinder, I need to inflict Iron Gods on my unsuspecting players before that comes out.
