When will the next season start please? (Magic the Gathering, Friends or Foes?)

Hi everyone!

I could not find any Adventure Card Game Group in my area (or England?!) and I am considering setting up an official one. I'm under no illusion that it's going to be a challenge, so to work to a realistic deadline, I was wondering if anyone knew when the next season is due to start?

As a side question, there is a large, registered group of Magic players where I live. From experience, does it help or hinder setting up a PACG guild? My concern is that the shops & venues will tell me they already do Magic, thus not interested in starting something else.

Season of the Runelords just started in March, and will be going through August or September. There won't be anything newer than THAT until at LEAST October, because that's when the Mummy's Mask base set comes out. I haven't heard anything on Season of the Mask (or Mummy, or whatevs) as far as scheduling.

Ok, one exception. There will be a mini-Season of the Goblin that will come up sometime around Gen Con in August. It's been termed as a "two-adventure seasonlet". I don't even know which base set will be used (IF ANY!).

Magic players are a many and varied lot. Some will join in, some will prefer competitive over cooperative. Different game stores will have different attitudes, but your best bet is to drum up interest ahead of time and see how many players you say will likely be coming to their store regularly.

Look at nearby stores that have board gaming groups, you'll generally have better luck with them than with MtG players (since PACG is really a board game, not a collectible card game). I also don't think that stores will say no to the opportunity of bringing in more business :)

Season of the Runelords (SotRu), which is Season 2, will end in August. There will be a mini-season, Season of the Goblin! (SotG), after SotRu followed by Season of the Mummy. Since Mummy's Mask is scheduled to hit the streets in October, I'd expect Season of the Mummy to start 2nd or 3rd week in November. (It's usually 3 weeks after the introduction of the new Base Set. And products are released last week of the month.)

Please talk to your local Pathfinder Society Venture Lieutenant or Venture Captain to figure out if there's anything they can do to help; from the regional coordinator page, it looks like there are Venture Captains in Brighton and London, and a Venture Lieutenant in Manchester. If nothing else, they can get you set up as a Venture Agent which will give you access to the scenarios at the time the stores get them.

Also, PaizoCon UK is also a thing and you should play there if you can to get a feel for organized play in a convention setting. Unfortunately it seems that they are sold out this year.
