[Dreamscarred Press] High Level Psionics: I Don't Know the Answer to This....

Advice and Rules Questions

Hey, I need rules help in Psionics.

A 20th level PC has the following effects going:

Mind Link

Battle Sense

Vitalist

I need to know if this PC will know if one of the PCs, who is Undead, has failed his Will Save against Control Undead.

I just don't know.

THANKS!

Well, first of all, is this undead PC still immune to mind-affecting powers?

He allows "Harmless" mind-affecting such as telepathy and Mind Blank and such, yes.

In that case, let's see...

Looking at the abilities, they don't specifically say anything that would let someone know if such a saving throw had failed. However, if part of that 'Control Undead' involves them no longer being willing targets for an ability, it's conceivable that they could drop out of it... and the Vitalist in question would probably realize they'd left the Collective.

There is nothing specific in the vitalist class that directly allows for the detection of an undead pc (who I assume is part of the Vitalist's collective) under the control of someone else.

However, control undead is a compulsion effect. As a result, a simple sense motive check can reveal that all is not right with the undead PC.
