1001 Impossible Prophecies (and Surprise! It is actually possible)

Homebrew and House Rules

You can only be defeated by a man not of woman born. (Surprise! Born by Caesarean does not count).

Only an army that can march on a teacup without breaking it can defeat your soldiers. (Surprise! Your soldiers are killed by army ants.)

You will never die. (Surprise! You end up turned to stone for all eternity.)

I'm not sure they count as procephies as much as they do hidden warnings. "What army can defeat mine?" is one question the second prophecy answers cryptically. Very nice though.

The Exchange

It's not the fall that will kill you (It's the landing)

Only a bass that does not live in water can be used to open the Outer Gates. (The bass is a singer not, not a fish.)

That last one only works with text.

Scarab Sages

The realm can only be saved by a villain of the noblest heart ("villain/villein" originally meant "peasant/serf" not necessarily an "Evildoer" - a bit of class warfare embedded right into our language! - but that also means, of course, that the inverse is possible as well, and a high-born malefactor could fit the bill as well as a Goodly commoner...or maybe both are necessary?)

Scarab Sages

No living thing, be it plant or animal, can ever do thee any harm (this leaves the gates wide open for the other 4 kingdoms of life - fungi, protists, eubacteria, and archaebacteria)

You will die with a smile on your face.
Sounds nice until you get hit with Hideous Laughter while underwater.

Ouch

You will live until old age takes you.

That'll be the ghost, of course.
