Cube of Force?

Advice

Liberty's Edge

Our party just acquired a cube of force.

It's a high level campaign (17-20); we have a bard, druid, cleric, fighter, and two wizards (an evoker and a necromancer--evocation is her forbidden school).

Just wondering what the most effective way to make use of the cube might be...it doesn't seem super useful for melee-types, the druid is usually shape-changed so it would be melded into him if he had it, and depending on the level chosen, it seems like the wall of force might be problematic for the wizards.

If you've had one in the past, I'm curious what you did with the cube of force.

Thanks.

Classic Treasures Revisited has a very good section on the Cube of Force. It's one of my favorite Paizo things.

Melee types can use it to trap one or two targets inside the cube with them so that they can engage them one on one. Either keep everything out for a true one on one, or set it to keep out living matter so that your target (and you) can get targeted by arrows or magic, but not melee assistance. Melee types can also greatly benefit from the "keeps out all magic" setting to remove one of their biggest vulnerabilities.

The wizard would benefit from keeping out nonliving matter (no arrows or armed enemies, but still allowing naked monsters in), or keeping living matter out to stop all (non-undead) melee attackers.

Thanks! Classic Treasures was an interesting read.

Best use for it: sell it and buy something else.
