dragon bloodrager help me make him awesome

Advice

hello there
i'v been into dnd for a good year now and its been pointed out to me (rather forcefully) that the only things iv ever made is 9th level spellcasters (cleric druid wizard ectect).

so my dm wants me to make a character that isnt a spell focused class and to try new things. i agreed and he said that sub casters (ranger paladin and bloodrager) were fine so i decided to make a bloodrager and after reading through it all i decided on a bloodrager with the dragon bloodline (red dragon).

so i wanted to base him off the character volga from the legend of zelda hyrule warriors game.

all i really know so far is he will be human and uses a lance (or spear) and also can use his claws as backup other than that i have no clue were to go so any advice is useful
ty all

Just some general tips about bloodrager:

STR > COS > CHA

You really need the minimun CHA for casting spell, since you are mostly using them to buff yourself, so DC doesn't matter, so starting with a 12 and later in the game get an headband is enough. STR and COS are your go-to stats.

Two-handed weapon is my favored style of fighting, but you can build a natural attack beast too, it's your choice.

As far as Bloodline goes Draconic isn't the stronger, but if you choosed it for the flavor it's fine; look into the Dragon Disciple prestige class if you wanna MORE DRAGON :D
Otherwise, Arcane, Destined and Aberrant are excellent choices: Arcane probably being the most OP in general, and Aberrant being the go-to for a tank build.

Archetypes: Primalist is so OP it's broken, you can basically swap a meh bloodline power and get 2 rage powers from the AM BARBARIAN class with no malus: for example you can swap the Draconic Resistance for Superstitous and Reckless Abandon.
Steelblood with the Aberrant Bloodline make quite a strong tank, as stated above.

But really, get the Superstitios rage power, you need his boost to you poor will & reflex saves.

If I was going to create a Draconic Bloodrager I'd go with something that uses the claws, like a sword/unarmed/claw build. Something like:

Primalist Blood Conduit Draconic Bloodrager
Dual Talent Human: 16/18STR, 13/15DEX, 15CON, 10INT, 8WIS, 12CHA
Traits: Magical Lineage: Frostbite, Totem Spirit: Moon Clan (or any other Will Save bonus)

1. +Improved Unarmed Strike / Two-Weapon Fighting
3. Dragon Style
5. Rime Spell
6. +Power Attack
7. Raging Vitality
8. *Primalist: Superstition, Fiend Totem*
9. Multiattack / +Improved Initiative

For most single attacks, you can use your sword in two hands like a normal two-hander Barbarian. When you can make a full attack, things get interesting...

With Dragon Style, the one offhand unarmed strike you make gets 1.5xSTR damage, since Dragon Style overrules the normal strength bonus. A Bodywrap of Mighty Strikes will enhance both your offhand unarmed strike and your claw attack by level 6, and then at level 11 it will enhance your gore attack as well (you could get a bite instead with Animal Fury, but personally I think dragon horns are way more stylish).

The Blood Conduit's Spell Conduit ability lets you use a swift action to auto-hit a target with a touch spell. You can use it to start-up your Frostbite, which inflicts 1d6+level nonlethal cold damage plus fatigue plus the entangled condition with Rime Spell (and it's still a level 1 spell thanks to Magical Lineage). Once Frostbite has begun, it triggers on every unarmed strike, claw attack and gore attack you make until it runs out. You can also use Spell Conduit for other things of course, like Frigid Touch if you want to stagger a dangerous target after charging.
