Huge Weapons

Rules Questions

So I have a player who will have a huge sized PC thanks to a harrow deck of many things, and was wondering about her weapons. I'll use the sling as an example, as it covers everything I'd need to know.

I already figured out the damage, that was the easy part, what I'm not sure about is their weight, cost, and possibly their range increments.

I don't think that range increments change with size, though I want to be sure (cause logically bigger weapons can go farther I think).

As to their weight and cost, I can't find anything for huge weapons, as large weapons are x2 to the weight and cost but the huge weapons aren't listed.

Thanks in advance!!

You are correct about the range increments not changing (realism aside).

I recommend going with the weight and cost multipliers for Huge armor (x5 and x4 respectively) as that table is the closest the rules get. Legend has it there was once meant to be a similar table for weapons, but that it was cut for page space.

For simplicity sake, if large is X2, just make huge X4.

Not changing the range actually makes sense, as the weight of the projectile has increased in proportion to the weapon's size. Actually it might have a shorter range if you think about it. Or a shorter life span as the strength of the materials to fire a larger projectile would wear them out quicker.

I would be a bit concerned with how her size, strength and the potential damage she could do would affect encounters. Since in theory she could possibly one hit monsters that are still the correct CR rating for the party level.

Alright, thanks guys!

Another question now (cause I don't want to spam posting new threads): would a greater hat of disguise work to decrease her size back to medium if she needed to get somewhere?

Would the alter self spell (in medium form) with the hat give another +2 to her str?

Do you still incur the size penalties from being huge if you change to medium or small form?

Would she lose any racial visions or other racial abilities?

See the general polymorph rules. In short:

Yes.

Yes, but only after taking a -8 to her Str (see table in linked text).

Neither yes nor no, see table.

Yes, all of them (see linked text); she might get some back depending on what she turns into (see alter self).
