Preparing for antimagic field

Reign of Winter

I've started prepping the final encounter in my Reign of Winter campaign, but I'm afraid this gets to be a cakewalk encounter if the players catch the enemy in an antimagic field. Is there anything that can be done to make this a challenging encounter that is not completely undone by one spell?

A couple things:

1) Constructs are mostly unaffected by an antimagic field; the Guardians of the Inner Sanctum just can't use their 1/day SLA.

2) The demodands are assumed to be called, not summoned, which means they remain present and can still attack physically in an antimagic field.

3) While in an antimagic field, the PCs lose all magic bonuses and spellcasting (including use of all their magic items); in most cases, that leaves them weaker against foes other than dedicated spellcasters.

Also: If a weapon loses magical bonuses, that means it cannot penetrate a called demodand's damage resistance. ;)

Well the golems do not fight on my side at all. They can be taken over by PCs, if at all. The problem is, the BBEG can simply so nothing. She can, for example, easily be grappled, and that's it.

Have the Queen cast some sort of Darkness spell smothering the area around the antimagic field.

Don't forget: Light spells don't function in the AMS, so they will now be in total darkness. Unless someone remembered to bring a physical torch. :)

Does your boss have acess to Aroden's Spellbane? I'm guessing not because this is Reign of Winter and this spell is only on the Arcanist/Sorcerer/Wizard spell list (and not available from any Witch Patron that I could find), but worth checking anyway. If not, then a handful of other spells are not affected by Antimagic Field (at least if they are cast first): Wall of Force, Prismatic {whatever}, and anything with a duration of Instantaneous (including the solid = non-energy Wall spells).

Edit: Another possibility: Your boss is probably not a Blackfire Adept, but might have some minions that are, although they need the prestige class capstone (10 levels of the prestige class) to get a chance to breka an Antimagic Field. Alternatively (or even in combination), one of your boss's minions might be able to cast Aroden's Spellbane (see above), although a minion that high level is already a boss in their own right.

Why not, given the location, have certain spells that screw over spellcasters simply not función in the boss room vía an affect similar to Aroden's spellbane. Perhaps tied to the cauldron and put there by Baba Yaga originally (she had no idea Elvanna would gain access to this room).

In my campaign the last battle will take place in the throne room of Whitethrone. I intend for the ice throne to have that power, as it makes sense the 20th level queen would have defense against things such as silence and anti-magic cones.
