Magic Weapons & Overcoming DR

Rules Questions

Simple question:
Does a +1 flaming, acidic weapon count as a +3 weapon for overcoming DR, or do you need to have a simple +3 bonus?

Simple +3 bonus, the special qualities don't help.

"Weapons with an enhancement bonus of +3 or greater can ignore some types of damage reduction"

the example weapon you mentioned doesn't have an enhancement bonus of +3 or greater, it has an enhancement bonus of +1. It just costs as much as a +3 weapon.

I'm fairly certain you need to have a flat +3 Enhancement Bonus in order to constitute bypassing the Damage Reduction.

Keep in mind that this rule does not apply to DR/Epic, which requires a +6 Weapon (which includes special abilities) to overcome it. It was originally ruled to require a flat +6 Enhancement Bonus, but was reversed so certain martials don't get absolutely screwed.

This is correct.
