Im looking for a list of commonly used rules pvp, im wanting to get into the pvp area, but i cant find many common rules pertaining such, like what items are banned, archetypes, classes, books, ect.

PvP is not an active part of the Pathfinder rule-set; generally speaking the idea behind the game is that the party consists of a number of similarly minded individuals working towards some common cause. Sometimes there are disagreements or other things which come up, but the best solution in these cases is often to talk it out, anything else would be situational, and called for by your DM.

EDIT: But, on the other hand, if you really want to go ahead, I would suggest checking out Ultimate Combat, Ultimate Magic, and the recently released Ultimate Intrigue. UC contains rules for duels and performance combat (like gladiatorial bouts), UM contains rules for spell duels, and UI contains rules for verbal duels (like convincing someone to go with your idea). If you wanted to work out a conflict-resolution system for when normal civility fails, those would be a starting point.

Check out Cheese Grinder at Dragoncon (didn't fire 2015, but should return 2016).

Also the Jolly Doc events at Gencon. Jolly is still doing Team ones every couple years. I'm doing the single elim ones for the last few years.

Trekkie, I think he is looking for "frequently banned" items.

Things like any item with a 7th to 9th level spell in the creation line, Cubes of Force, and scrolls of Antimagic.

All those, if allowed, make the whole competition the same thing. I remember one year where of the 12 players, 8 were barbarians with UMD and a scroll of anti magic. When scrolls of 9th level spells were allowed, 9 people of the 12 brought one and summoned in a Solar CR 23 for a 12th level combat.
