According to the wiki, Uru (the metal Thor's hammer is made from) is a non-sparking metal, most of which are non-ferrous. I.E., they are not magnetic, therefore Magneto would not be able to affect it with his powers.
That then only leaves "Is Magneto worthy to wield Mjolnir?" the answer to which is "Probably not, no".

Magneto's powers don't seem to require ferrous metal all the time. He's been shown stopping bullets, for example, which are lead, with the possibility of a copper jacket or mercury core.

I think he shouldn't because he's not worthy. Epic artifact transcends laws of physics, magnetic fields or what-not.
OTOH, various robots and machines have been able to lift Mjolnir at some times. Others have been able to move things Mjolnir was on.
The hammer is heavy, but the enchantment really only applies to people picking it up.Could Jean Grey, or another telekinetic, move the hammer? If not, and this would apply to Magneto as well, would their various force field type defences apply to it at all? Might not be able to stop it - that's a lot of kinetic energy, but slow or deflect at least.

Like many things it depends on which Magneto. The hero Magneto who stepped up after Charles Xavier's presumed death, and surrendered himself to the World Court for his past crimes may well have been worthy.
The leader of the band of evil Mutants and the White King of the Hellfire Club would certainly not be. Thor himself has been unworthy of the hammer at several instances.
And there's been at least twice where an enraged Hulk has thrown the hammer at Thor and hit with it,even though Maestro, a stronger form, has never managed to even budge it. So even Mjolnir isn't always consistent.
And it may well be that Jane Foster's refusal of Asgardian healing to save her life.."Because magic always has a price." may make her the worthiest wielder of them all.

Honestly, I doubt Magneto even at his best would be worthy. Maybe for a brief moment of self-sacrifice in a crisis.

He did it once in the Ultimate universe (pretty badass scene, actually)... But Mag's power are the kind that vary widely (and I mean WIDELY) from writer to writer.
This; Magneto has wielded Mjolnir. The story in question was Ultimates 3 #5 (2008), but the real answer is "Only if the plot calls for it."

Magneto has stopped the hammer before. He made a passing comment about doing so during Fear Itself, when he found himself unable to stop the Worthy Juggernaut's hammer. But lifted it in the 616 universe? I can't say. His scrap with Thor was way back in early Journey into Mystery I believe. Then again, they let the Red Hulk sorta-kinda lift the hammer when he first appeared, via the power of bad plot writing, so....

Scythia wrote:I've seen Hulk piledrive Thor while he was wielding mjonir... So I'd say "yes".Speaking of Hulk, could someone move the hammer by using a worthy bearer to move it?
By which I mean if the Hulk swung Thor bodily and hit the resting hammer, would it move?
Makes me picture Hulk grabbing Mjollnir by using Thor like the rest of us would use a trivet to grab a cookie sheet from the oven.
