Martial Master

What is a Martial Master?

A human racial feat from the ARG, possibly something else too, can you give us some context?

Martial Master is an archetype of the fighter class that gives up weapon training and weapon mastery to gain a version of the brawlers martial flexibility class feature.

Posted this in the other thread too:
It is an archetype for fighters.

Archetypes are a system in Pathfinder where you can switch out a set of class features for a prereleased set of other class features. These could be features from another class, or it could be a unique set of features meant for the archetype.

In this case, Martial Master is an archetype that trades out weapon training (a scaling bonus to attack and damage with your weapon group) in order to get the brawler's martial flexibility class feature. This means that, using swift, mvoe, etc. actions, you can temporarily add another feat you otherwise qualify for. Picked at will when you activate the ability. Thus, you have plenty of options on how to react to any any fight (for example, sudden darkness could be negated by using blind fighting feats).

There is a warning though- weapon training has recently gotten a HUGE boost in value due to advanced weapon training. This is an option that allows you to trade out later options to pick different weapon groups (you still get the scaling bonus to the first weapon group, but you don't get the option to get weapon training with another group) in return for a series of special options. These include things like vastly improving your will and reflex saves, getting more skill points per level, getting shield bonuses from your weapon, and getting scaling damage dice on your weapon (ie- your daggers might get to hit with 1d10).

So it is a rather important choice as a fighter. Going with the base class, you can grab weapon training and advanced weapon training. With martial master, you get lower attack/damage and lose out on the neat options, but you can react to pretty much any situation.
