Destruction spell and holy symbol as focus

Rules Questions

Hi,

I am playing an Oracle in our campaign and I am wondering why the Destruction spell has a Focus (F) component and not a Divine Focus (DF) component although the Focus (F) component must be a holy (or unholy) symbol.
Why should be a holy symbol a normal Focus (F) and not a Divine Focus (DF).

As an Oracle you never need a Divine Focus (DF) for spellcasting or channeling and so there is no one worth 500GP in my backpack. ;)

Sure, the 500GP is not a problem at the level you can cast LVL 7 spells.
My problem is, there is no shop in the Abyss where I can buy a holy symbol of Sarenrae woth 500GP. ;)

It is a focus exactly because you need a specific item, not a generic divine focus.
Making it a focus mean that someone can make you incapable to cast the spell by sundering it, that it can be stolen, that it must be brought specifically for this spell and that it isn't found in the corner shop outside a small sanctuary.

Ask your GM how and where you can obtain a 500 gp focus.

Do that.

This.

There may well be a fallen cleric who previously worshipped Sarenrae around whom you can slay, and then take their expensive special holy symbol that they could never quite bring themselves to give up...

Or perhaps a demon stole a holy relic from a temple of Sarenrae whilst summoned there for malign deeds by cultists unknown, and has a lair nearby that you could pillage for the power to utterly destroy things.

Really if you want this item, and tell your GM that you want it, then an imaginative GM should have no problems at all coming up with a way for the strangest of items to be in the strangest of places.

Thanks for your answeres! :)

Normally shopping would't be a problem => planeshift + teleport or mythic planeshift, go shopping and back. ;)
My problem is, we are playing the "Wrath of the Righteous" campaign and at the moment we are in the unavoidable (?) labyrinth. As soon as we leave it, I'll go shopping. ;)

Just got an idea, with a little bit of luck we will find Dawnflower's Kiss soon and I am the only worshiper of Sarenrae in our party. Maybe my GM allows the use of the weapon as Focus. ;)
