Pathfinder Society - what Classes / Races are allowed?

Pathfinder Society

Dark Archive

Just got the Pathfinder bundle and was reading through the Advanced Classes guide and some stuff from the SRD. I know there's a Pathfinder Society in my town but the guide wasn't clear on what I could or could not use in the way of races or classes. I was eyeing the Tiefling and Fetchling classes as they are pretty interesting thematically, but couldn't find any mention of those races in the Society guide.

Can I take races/classes in the advanced guides? Can I only take the ones in the Core Rules?

I don't play Society, but the guide should say which races you can play in it. Core races plus a few others- kitsune, and I think tengu and wayang? Definitely forgetting something. In any case, Tieflings and Fetchlings aren't normally playable in Society. They're a bit stronger than the other races. Plenty of home games allow them, of course.

The additional resources page will tell you what is legal from every book.

The RPG Guild Guide should let you know what races are available. Currently all CRB races plus tengu, kitsune, and wayang are generally available.

Special rewards called boon chronicles (usually given out as a reward for GMing at a convention) can let you play a race that isn't normally available.

Hi Harkevich. There's a guide available for free on the Paizo website that lists what races and such are available for Society play along with everything else you need to know. Search for the Pathfinder Soviety Guide to Organized Play and you should be set. Just make sure you get the latest version of it.

Have fun in Society Play!

Heyo

Classes: All paizo classes except the regular summoner (the unchained one is fine)

Races: Everything in the core rules plus Nagaji, wayang, kitsune, and tengu. Other races are availale with boons.

The guide is here

The list of additional resources is Here

An easier way to check is to look on archives of nethys and look for the funny white X: Thats the glyph of the open road and means its pfs legal.

Thanks for the answers! I doubt I'd be GMing anything anytime soon, so I'll figure out something from the options available to me.

Except the anti-paladin as well.

No evil alignments.

Very little is available in way of crafting.

There is a huge amount of material available but also a sizeable amount is not. You need to check additional resources to see if what you want to use is available. You also need to own a legal source for any material you want to use.

Archivesofnethys is a really well put together 3rd Party website that can help you determine what options are legal. Just check the box that filters PFS legal options.

The Additional Resources page is the official list of what material is legal. Ctrl+F is currently the only way to search it, though.
