Retraining question. Combat feats as class features

Rules Questions

Hello I have a simple question about retraining.

If you have a class skill that gives you feats you normally can't take, like Rangers Combat style feats or Warpriests Bonus feats, how does the retraining work?

Can I retrain a feat to another on the list if I'm a Ranger or to another combat feat with BAB to level/Figher levels if I'm a Warpriest?

If so, if I took lunge at level 6 as a bonus feat (as it needs BAB 6) can I take lunge again at level 9 as a Normal feat and retrain the Bonus feat to Critical Focus (that needs BAB 9).(This is for a warpriest).

Cheers

(One suggestion: you're talking about "class features" here, not "class skills"--if you can edit the title, you might get more responses.)

If you took the feat *as a bonus feat*--that is, you had a list of feats to choose from and you picked one of these--yes, you can retrain it using the retraining rules in Ultimate Campaign (assuming your GM agrees, of course).

If you received the feat *as a class feature*, however, you can't retrain it. For example, Honor Guard Cavaliers get the Bodyguard feat as a class feature at 3rd level: they don't have a choice of feats, and it replaces another class feature, so they can't retrain the Bodyguard feat.

Now, your Warpriest gets Weapon Focus at level 1. You can't retrain that into a different feat, but I would let you retrain it to a different weapon.

Thanks, changed the title.

Did not know you could change the weapon focus feat in that way. Good to know.

The feature I was wondering most about is this on (from warpriest):

Bonus Feats

At 3rd level and every 3 levels thereafter, a warpriest gains a bonus feat in addition to those gained from normal advancement. These bonus feats must be selected from those listed as combat feats. The warpriest must meet the prerequisites for these feats, but he treats his warpriest level as his base attack bonus (in addition to base attack bonuses gained from other classes and Hit Dice) for the purpose of qualifying for these feats.

Finally, for the purposes of these feats, the warpriest can select feats that have a minimum number of fighter levels as a prerequisite, treating his warpriest level as his fighter level.

It's not really a list, so a bit unsure.

If the old feat is a bonus feat granted by a class feature, you must replace it with a feat that you could choose using that class feature.

So as long as you don't need Lunge to fill a prerequisit it shouldn't be a problem. Otherwise you'll have to ask your DM if you can take the feat again before you retrain it.

If you don't already have Improved Critical, I'd advice you to pick that one over Critical Focus.

Aaah, perfect! There usually are rules for most things, it's just sometimes hard to navigate it all.

Lunge and critical focus was just examples btw. I remembered that they needed BAB 6 and BAB 9, so just picked those :)
