Equipment makes no mention of the range of a weapon being altered by size, but wouldn't it make sense that a large sized long bow had a further range than a medium? Now, sure, it may be nominal based on the fact that though a small sized longbow and a med sized short bow do the same damage, yet have different ranges. But what about a colossal sized being that has a bow. It seems silly it's range is only 100', no?

That's game balance vs reality, but that is the way it is. A pixie-sized longbow can shoot just as far as a giant-sized longbow.
As a GM, you can certainly take some creative license with the extremes, but I would be hesitant to allow a player to do so except in on-off situations.

It gets really strange with thrown weapons. A colossal titan can attack in melee with a dagger out to 30 feet with no penalty. If he threw it the exact same 30 feet, he would receive a -4 penalty because of the range. With a reach weapon, the titan can attack creatures out to 60 feet, while he can only throw the dagger 50 feet - he has a longer range with a melee weapon than he does with a thrown weapon.
