Ring of Counterspell Question

Rules Questions

Quick question-Ring of Counterspell. It says that you can load it with a level 6 spell. Antimagic Field is a level 8 Cleric spell, but a level 6 Wizard spell. Could a Cleric put the spell into the ring? Since making it as a scroll would be at the cost of a level 6, I'm not quite sure how this would work

If a cleric makes a scroll of Antimagic Field, it is at the cost of a level 8 spell.

And, no, she can't put it into the ring.

By default, a scroll is made at minimum CL for the spell.

If the cleric creates a scroll of a Cleric AMF spell, he makes an 8th level AMF scroll at 15th CL. If the source is a Wizard AMF spell, it is a 6th level AMF spell at 11th CL.

The calculated price is 1650 for the Wizard scroll and 3000 for the Cleric scroll.

You can place the Wizard scroll in, but not the Cleric scroll.

Also, by default, unless specified, a scroll is assumed to be made by the cheapest method. The spell's effect is unchanged by a change in spell level, but does change by caster level. CL only affects summoned creatures in the target area at casting, and only by beating the SR of the summoned creature. Therefore, most will be unlikely to want a higher CL version of the scroll. This means that the cheap one determines price. Also, a higher CL wizard version has the same effect as the cleric version, and is still cheaper. Thus the cleric version costs (3000/2=1500), but sells for 2250, the same price a wizard version of the same CL sells for.
