So, I recently DMed the first part of Fires of Creation, and I'm curious about how a few things work.
On the chronicle sheet, there are several guns available for purchase. But, the Pathfinder Society version of the Gunsmithing feat bans all characters from purchasing a firearm unless they have the feat in the first place.
Does that mean that guns on those sheets cannot be purchased at all?

The only other item I can think of that is restricted by a class feature/feat is poison. I'm pretty sure if a poison appears on a chronicle, then anyone can purchase it. I would assume the same would be true for firearms. Remember that a chronicle sheet is a legal source as far as the additional resources are concerned. If something is otherwise illegal and appears on a chronicle sheet, then it is legal for the holder of that chronicle sheet (within the limits set forth on the chronicle).

I see where the confusion is coming from, as the entries for Inner Sea World Guide and Ultimate Combat clearly prohibit a PC from purchasing a firearm from those sources unless she has the Gunsmithing feat. Technology Guide just has a blanket ban on all of the weapons, barring their appearance on a Chronicle sheet. The intention is that a technological weapon's appearance on a Chronicle sheet—be it a chainsaw or a laser pistol—overrides this and applies to all classes.
Right now I can only think of two instances of a basic firearm showing up on a Chronicle sheet, and both were for modules. I don't know if there was ever a ruling on whether that overrode the Additional Resources page's statement.

Thank you very much. This has been an incredible help.
Which modules were those? If you know.
