"At 7th level, a tattooed sorcerer can create a spell tattoo once per day with a single touch as a standard action"
As far as I can tell works like the magical item creation feat for spell tattoos and I've conceded to my GM that I can't use this with spells that need ANY material components.
Where we still disagree is he says I need to pay the gold cost that would normally be associated with creating the tattoo of that spell. I thought supernatural abilities bypassed any normal gold/material requirements of what they were replicating?

no material components is 100% clear.
interesting in that you are motivated to take Eschew Components by Feat after giving it up with this Arch.
no gold cost. you are not following crafting process at all.
you are not using spellcraft, you are not spending gold, you are not using tattoo ink.
you are using Su abilty whose result is the same outcome as the normal crafting process for spell tattoos.
(EDIT: although it has further restrictions beyond that of craft process, e.g. # of body slots, material components, etc)
(EDIT2: also note how these "SU" tattoos can even overlap same body slots of normal craft tattoos)
(EDIT3: so clearly they are quite a different beast, even if otherwise functioning similarly)
SLAs don't have material components (gold), SU's don't have them either (unless specifically stated).
obviously, nobody else can use these, and you can't accumulate them if you don't use them.
the archetype basically gives you bonus 'prepared spell slots' from your spells known
(or that you knew when creating tattoo, in case you swap around pages of spell knowledge with allies, use that 1/2 elf spell etc).

also note the separete ability which grants an SLA.
which is weird because why doesn't it use the same spell tattoo mechanic, right?
well, one advantage is that once you select the SLA, you can then 'forget'/re-train your spellknown which was the "source" of SLA,
and use that spell known slot for another spell, yet continue using the SLA on a daily basis.
(whereas you need to re-create the spell tattoos on a daily basis using your current spells known)
so if there is a spell you want to be able to cast with full CL etc, but don't need to do so lots of times per day, this is perfect.

Also just a small aside, the tattoo familiar is listed as a Su.
Does that mean if I or my Familiar walked into an antimagic field, she would disappear like a summoned creature?
As I read it, the creature is real and the tattoo is a Su. So instead of disappearing, the opposite would happen: if "Flopsy" is currently a tattoo, it'll suddenly spring to life the moment your inked skin hits the Antimagic Field.
