Why does the dragon use animal HD and not Eidolon (outsider) HD or dragon HD?
Does the rider get any casting? Does the rider get any to-hit bonuses?
It would be interesting if the dragon shared the rider's pseudo-challenge bonuses.
The dragon mount is animal-like in nature and, for balance purposes, advances like an animal companion.
No casting. This is not meant as a gish class. However, bonuses to combat rolls might be found in the society abilities that are not yet written.
Agreed. Perhaps that can also be factored into the society abilities.

I don't think the dragon should be an animal companion either. For one, all animal companions have 1 or 2 intelligence and are neutral alignment. I don't think of animal-intelligence when I think of D&D dragons. Plus, your class specifies that your dragon shares your alignment, when it's not smart enough to make moral decisions. I think you should either go with something more like the eidolon, or at least take a few notes from the paladin mount, which starts with an intelligence of 6 and also becomes a celestial magical beast after a while.

Is it a good idea to give them an evolution pool? For summoners, customizing your eidolon is fun, but in this case, we already know that we are going to recreate a dragon. As a player, I would be okay with being told that my dragon mount gets certain features like breath weapon, fly-speed, etc. at the listed levels. At the very least, the mount could follow the format of the unchained summoner's eidolon.
Not sure how I feel about the term "societies". At first, I thought it was something akin to a bloodline, but in fact, it is the equivalent of a cavalier's order. So, who exactly comprises the members of a society? The rider, the mount, or both?

This honestly feels lazy. I get the attempt here, I really do, but it feels like a copypastah of the Cavalier. Ignoring for a moment that I hate the awkward progression of Cavalier... This really feels like it needs a new companion mapped out. Same as spirits and eidolons.
Prey doesn't fit at all. I'm a bloody dragon rider. I want to wash an army in the death of a Dragon's Breath. I want to jump from target to target, possibly both me and the Dragon picking different targets.

Thank you all. I recently found out that "Dragonrider" already exists as a base class in Pathfinder. I'm going back to the drawing board with this thing. It needs an overhaul.
To Mortonator. I threw this thing together in a day. Yes, much copy and pasting did occur because a) it is a hybrid class, and b) I wanted to help insure correct wording. Hopefully the next draft won't look so patched together.
