A ruling regarding the chaotic gnome alchemist.

Rules Questions

Hello, first post here, glad to be part of the community. So getting to the matter of it: I have a gnome alchemist whom I wish to be slightly the mad scientist type. Not Jekyll and Hyde, but more "I want to use my bombs in nefarious ways when I'm having a 'bad day' " kind of fellow. Are there any suggestions on what I could do to add that kind of a personality flaw to my little monster? Also, another question: Would it work by the rules if I was adjacent to an enemy after casting body capacitance then using a shock enhanced bomb to hit him; after which I take shock splash damage and use the touch attack to give half to the enemy? Thank you all for any help offered!

Greetings, Churst (C. Hurst?), and welcome to the forums (and to PFS!).

This type of question would be best asked in the Advice Forum. Searching that Forum would probably also bring up wonderful roleplay ideas as well as mechanics.

(it's always good practice to provide a link to the thing you're questioning; saves posters the time of having to look it up themselves)

So you 1) drank an extract of Body Capacitance, 2) suffered splash damage from your shock bomb, and wanted to 3) make a melee touch attack to deal half that splash damage back to them?

Sure. Sounds fine to me.

Note that the touch attack would be a standard action and trowing the bomb when adjacent would provoke an attack of opportunity.

On the positive side it is not a held charge, so you can cast other spells/drink other extracts while Body Capacitance is active and still benefit from it.

That say, I don't see any reason for your tactic not to work.

Thank you both for your help! I'll be sure to check out the advice section. Also figured that ruling would work out. Looking forward to more activity on here!
