Goblin barbarian

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

So I have always liked the idea of playing a goblin because of their angry/evil demeanor. And the barbarian has always been my favorite class. Then I found the archtype urban rager which allows you to gain dex bonuses instead of strength. I figured I could put this together with a couple levels of unchained rogue to make a TWF goblin barbarian. My plan is to take 3 levels of rogue for the weapon finesse training, and then go barbarian. Im planning on using 2 dogslicers. Any ideas to help this become fully combat effective?

The Agile weapon property?

I wouldn't bother with Unchained Rogue. The agile property is just as good(maybe a little less), but with a 13 Str, Power Attack, and an Elven Curved Blade/Branch Spear(stolen, thematically, from an elven kid) and you can be downright vicious. Urban Barbarian/Invulnerable Rager and Roll with It!(goblin feat) will make you very, very hard to kill in melee too.

The roll with it feat is pretty awesome I will have to use that.

If you went with Unchained Barbarian you wouldn't have to worry about converting your Rage bonuses from Str to Dex since you'd just get flat bonuses to attack and damage. Of course you wouldn't get more Dex bonus for AC, but you might be bumping up against the max Dex limit on your armor anyhow. You would get other Rage bonuses like temporary hit points though.

There's an amusing archetype for goblin Barbarians called Feral Gnasher. It specializes in biting and grappling, both of which could work with a Dex based PC, especially if you take the Agile Maneuvers feat. The Raging Grappler rage power is good for dealing damage a little quicker and knocking your foes prone. I've also found the Ankle Biter feat for goblins entertaining and useful for when monsters try to Grab or otherwise abuse my PC.

If you stick with the two dogslicer concept instead it might be fun to take Improved Critical (Dogslicer) when you get a chance.
