Reading the Sarenrae entry I found a reference to the Sun Striker feat as being of possible interest to her followers. Since I have a Whirling Dervish Swashbuckler I was particularly intrigued. Looking at the feat prerequisites I'm confused by the following:
"Prerequisites: Critical Focus, Weapon Focus (scimitar), character level 7th, worshiper of Sarenrae."
Critical Focus has a prerequisite of BAB +9, so why add the Character level requirement to the Sun Striker Feat? Or was it intended to be character level 17th.
Called by the Dawnflower to strike down the undead, your scimitar becomes an agent of her burning will.
Prerequisites: Critical Focus, Weapon Focus (scimitar), character level 7th, worshiper of Sarenrae.
Benefit: Whenever you confirm a critical hit against an undead creature, your attack bypasses all DR, deals full damage to incorporeal creatures, and acts as though it has the f laming burst weapon special ability.
Probably in case you got Critical Focus as part of a class feature via archetype at an earlier stage than normal.
The earliest I can see that you can take Critical Focus is 8th with the Cavalier/Samurai Order of Vengeance. That's the ONLY early entry I found, so "the character level 7th" is a complete and total waste of ink and effort.
Perhaps just insurance in case a future class or archetype gives early access to Critical Focus?
If a feature ignores one level prerequisite, it's likely to also ignore that one too. I'd be more inclined to think they didn't notice the BAB requirement on the prerequisite and/or didn't correctly equate that BAB into a minimum level required to take the prerequisite feat. Add to that, I don't see this as a particularly powerful feat so the 'insurance' seems unneeded. If you somehow managed to get the feat at 1st would it really matter as far as balance goes? Not IMO.
What I find incredibly amusing is that they didn't take the time to make sure the critical had to be with the weapon you took the Weapon Focus in (scimitar), but they did find time to add a level requirement... Works perfectly fine with a longbow, rapier or bite attack...
