How to reduce the size of animal companion as a cleric / oracle

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to build a character with an animal companion, and I've got a problem. Most ACs become Large once they pass the 4th/7th level advancement. Sometime in the dungeon we want to reduce its size.

Sorcerers have Reduce Person(which could be used on AC with Share Spells). Druids, rangers and hunters have Reduce Animal. Mount-users have Undersized Mount so hello my little pony.

But how about clerics and oracles? Do they have a spell in their list to reduce the size of a Large AC? If they don't, which mean do you think is better: to prepare some scroll of Reduce Animal(Reduce person won't work in this case) and UMD them? Or to burn a Narrow Frame feat (Avoid penalties on attack and AC when squeezing)?

You can pick your domains/mysteries carefully so you can get one of the spells onto your list.

Which domain/mystery grants reduce person/reduce animal? I can't find any.

Get your fluffy to take narrow frame/buy a belt of tbe weasel for your fluffy(if he has item slot to use it).

Otherwise you UMD reduce animal, or do ancient lore keeper for reduce person. Due to share spells, your animal companion qualifies for reduce person. Or dreamed secrets.

Huh, I guess there's only Enlarge Person. My bad.

Samsarans can learn spells from other lists of the same type, given they have a certain alternate racial trait.

Invest in a Greater Hat of Disguise and have your animal companion walk around as a Sewer Troll.

Um... it seems that neither solution is perfect...

I don't like ancient lore keeper, since the +2 dex/+2 int/-2 con of elf looks bad as an oracle for me. The DC 20 will save demanded by dreamed secrets is a little harsh as well. At Lv 7 I guess I will be about +8 will, and the DC would be too high.

I think I wound UMD reduce animal scrolls, in order to save a feat for my lovely (yet Large) cat :)

Not sure if ancient lorekeeper works on half elves. Thought it did but I'm not too sure

Why would Narrow Frame not solve the Issue? Its an excellent Feat for any Large Creature in 5ft Paths

Just don't increase the animal companion's size, you do have this choice:

Narrow frame is a great feat for large ACs.

There's a spell called Carry Companion, though it might not be any better/easier than UMDing Reduce Animal.

There are also oils/potions if you don't have UMD

There's an item by Flaming Crab Games in their new "Dragon's Hoard" pdf, called "Toy Barding". It reduces the companion to tiny sized, and makes them docile so they can ride in a carry bag and such. They aren't combat capable but it's easy to bring them back when you get to a more open space.
