As stated above, I want some help for an idea I had for a Beast Rider. I was wondering, would it be viable to make one that used a Lance in one hand and a Pistol of some type in the other? And if so, how? The races I was thinking were either Nagaji or Suli. I've got 25 Point Buy to work with, but no dumping. Starting at lvl 1.

So, the problem is that firearms are terrible unless you're a gunslinger or another class that somehow gets to add a stat to the damage of guns. It's also a big pain in the butt to reload firearms. And then there is the problem that it is generally difficult to use a lance well, and use a ranged weapon.
Using a lance well generally consists of making repeated mounted charges. Charging is a full round action that allows you to make only 1 attack at the end of that charge. Shooting your gun would be it's own separate action, or you would need to TWF which would prevent you from charging.
Basically, there is no way to do both in the same round and do them well.
You could sit on the back of your mount and TWF with a lance and gun, but then you're not getting mounted charge damage so there isn't much point in using a lance and then there isn't as much of point in being mounted
And if you're mounted charging everywhere, you can't use a gun.
Basically, there is no good way to pull this off.
The only thing you can sort of do (IMO) is to carry a musket with you, fire it at the start of combat and then switch to your lance and charge.

You could probably do better with a pistol & saber combo, or better yet a mounted gunslinger with a saber and carbine, like a 19th century dragoon.
And if you have any interest in mounted combat let me humbly recommend this book.

they would be ok mounts.
I prefer Giant Gecko, Roc, or Dire bat myself. These are more tactical mounts built for movement and getting the most of your feats since you are required to dismount a lot less (if at all).
But if your looking for a Huge mount to overrun and trample your foes after you stick them with a lance then the Elephant or Trex can accomplish that with there size and str.
