Ascetic Style grants a monk weapon any effects you have that augment unarmed strikes.
Ascetic Strike grants a reduced portion (-4 effective level) of your unarmed strike damage dice to use instead of the damage dice of your monk weapon's.
But wouldn't Ascetic Style, baseline, already grant the damage dice at full power, as unarmed strike damage dice is an effect that augments your unarmed strikes?
I don't have the feat in front of me, but perhaps the Ascetic Strike is meant for non-monks?
Not likely -- Ascetic Strike does not grant monk levels for damage dice, so, baseline, it is only good for monks/brawlers.
It does grant qualification for Monastic Legacy, but that's neither here nor there.

weapon; base attack bonus +7 or monk
level 7th.
Benefit: You can use the unarmed strike
damage of a monk 4 levels lower than your
character level (minimum 1st) instead
of the base damage for the chosen

in all other ways as the brawler’s
