Area effect on touch spells?

Rules Questions

I am playing a Magus Myrmidarch in a game I am in and though a few things that would be interesting but not sure how to pull it off. Is there by chance a touch spell that can do area effect damage much like what the spell shatter could do? If there is no such spell then is their a way I could make say shocking graps into an area effect spell? Why I asked is I thought of a good combo with the m79 with the shatter spell, sadly though shatter is not a touch spell so couldn't that. So I am looking for one that could maybe do about the same effect.

Also Just wondering can you make it where shatter do damage other targets such as people and not just objects? If so what would I have to do for that?

A touch spell is almost by definition not an AoE spell. How would you touch all of the targets than?

There's nothing that I'm aware of that is an AoE touch spell. Magi are by and large single-target nukes. They can still throw around fireballs and whatnot, but at that point they're just a nerfed wizard.

I wasn't sure that's why I asked andI thought there might been a way you could. Because it be interesting if could use the weapon damage from m79 which is 6d6 damage plus spell damage without even needing to hit the target but only the squre. I was hoping there was a meta magic feat I may have missed that could help me do this or some other way if that make since?

Scarab Sages

Even if there was a metamagic that changed a touch spell to an area effect, it would no longer be a touch spell, and therefore no longer a usable with spellstrike.

There is the reach metamagic feat, but it makes it no longer a touch spell as Imbicatus said.

I see your point, that really bites. Thanks for the input guys and sending the time to help me out with it.

It's our pleasure. If you want to hit somebody and throw out fireballs, try looking at the eldritch knight prestige class. It's their capstone ability, but they get to cast a spell for free if they land a critical hit.
