A friend of mine will be hosting a game soon. He calls it "Everyone is going to hell", the idea of this game is that the gate of hell opens up in our world and would be up to us to get into hell and either save the world or help bring hell onto the world. My friend have also said that anything goes which also means homebrew characters but try to make it some what balance. We would be level 15 to start out, level adjustment would not count and start out with any magical items one would want. There is me and three other people and two already have half of theres done, I can't remeber what they call can do but here is what I know. One of them have a kinder artificer that could some how steal anything you have no matter what, and the second one is playing what is called Biofighter which is about the same as the Guyver anime. The biofighter guy with no magical items hehave "Vow Of Poverty" and I think "Monster of Legend template added to it. The Biofighter have like 40 STR and Dex, INT 18 and I cant remeber the other stats but his AC is 60. So I am trying to figure out how to match it or come close in some way. Being in the setting of the game we would be playing I have thought for the hell of it come up with a half angel and half demon very much like Dante in the newer Devil May Cry game. My friend who is DMing this game said I could do it if I come up with a good story for it. The story part I believe I can come up with something good. However I am not sure if there is in fact a race or template that could do that. So I ask if there is in fact any way I can make the character I am thinking of or if anyone have some suggestions I would be willing to listen.
Ok for the character I have I been thinking how make the best of shocking grasp, being I am a magus myrmidarch. Right now I have extended spell and elemental spell (acid),with magical trait if I were to use both on shocking grasp would it still be only a level one spell or would it a level two? If I use any metamagic that only cost 1 spell level would shocking grasp be still a level one or would it all add up? I saw another feat called stack metamagic which by what I understand I could very well use extend spell two in a row which for shocking grasp would be 15d6 at level 10. Is this right or did I misunderstood? Also if done in this way would shocking grasp be still a first level spell would would it be a level two in this way? Now if I have a pearl of power and again if I used shocking grasp with all those metamagic feets would it still give me back the spell with the metamagic feats on it as long it is still a level one spell?
I wasn't sure that's why I asked andI thought there might been a way you could. Because it be interesting if could use the weapon damage from m79 which is 6d6 damage plus spell damage without even needing to hit the target but only the squre. I was hoping there was a meta magic feat I may have missed that could help me do this or some other way if that make since?
I am playing a Magus Myrmidarch in a game I am in and though a few things that would be interesting but not sure how to pull it off. Is there by chance a touch spell that can do area effect damage much like what the spell shatter could do? If there is no such spell then is their a way I could make say shocking graps into an area effect spell? Why I asked is I thought of a good combo with the m79 with the shatter spell, sadly though shatter is not a touch spell so couldn't that. So I am looking for one that could maybe do about the same effect. Also Just wondering can you make it where shatter do damage other targets such as people and not just objects? If so what would I have to do for that?
Ok in this game I'm in I'm the only one having my characters killed off because most of what my dm been useing his touch attacks from spells and mostly guns. My last character was a 6 level fighter and 1 level monk. In order to raise my touch ac I chose not to have any armor to have the monk's ac and touch ac bouse with wisdom mod. I was able to get him about 23 touch ac but still didn't seem enough for faced undead with guns and in about 5 rounds I was done and then it comes and kill my character off. This would my 4th character I'm making and I'm now trying a paladen but I fear that he might die just as fast. I have looked though things and found nothing for melee class to defend against touch attacks so I'm lost in what to do or get for items. And what I was suggest from my group is to be a charging paladon but I dont see the point sense I would still have a low touch ac in which anything would still hit me no matter what. I was thinking gunslinger which if done 6 level gunslinger and 1 level monk would have good ac and touch ac but the damage not as good unless I done something wrong. So is there any way I can have good defence and able to dich out the damage at the same time or what can I do?
Like the tital sais I'm wanting to know some things because I dont know if its herolab chacater builder glich's or is there somthing I'm not understanding for some things to work right, that and a few ideas I want to know if it would work. 1. Does ring of protection +1, shield spell and the sheild of fath spell all stack up? I ask because I try protection +1 with the two spells and it didnt seem to add up but if I get a protection +3 on there it adds only one plus to it. Does these 3 stack or is it a glich in the character builder? Also dose the ring of protection do both Armor AC and Touch AC or just Armor AC? 2. Does the shield spell do both Armor AC and Touch AC? I was told it does but when I put it in the character builder it only dose Armor AC. 3. Could you use a spell from a wand and put it on a item of storing, such as a ring of spell storing? 4. I am a 6 level fighter and some one said I should try useing wands for 2 spells I have in mind, would it be worth a fighter to have points in use magical device skill (I have 6 points on there so far) or would it be a wast of points and skill?
Not sure, though it will be a bit odd my fighter useing wounds just to bost himself lol. But yea the only thing that shows that up the touch ac is shield of faith and combat expertise. Ring of protection dosen't seem to do anything for me unless is higher then a +2, mage armor dosen't show up on anything so unless theres somthing I'm doing wrong thats not showing things up (which can be) those 2 things are useless to me. The only things that seem to help is shield and shield of faith (both wands) and combat expertise which give me a 28 Ac and a 19 Touch ac which is still much better then before. But I would still like to know how to fix it to show the touch ac or else I wont be useing mage armor if that make sense?
I find for me droping prone is not a good idea lol nore would droping my weapon on the time but it is somthing to consider. But using wonds I would not have thought about and that might just be what im looking for. Now the quesiton I have now is can you stake mage armor and the shild spell (if useing a wand for each spell) do they stake up?
Hello all and I hope you can help me out. I been playing a game in which me and the party I'm in have been faceing things that been effecting touch AC and I'm the only one in the party that been getting hit with it 95% of the time. My DM have aloud me to rework my character so I would like your help with that. So far I been fighting orcs with guns, a shadow demon (that fleed before can be killed) and 4 ghouts which I had a hard time killing because there incorporeal monsters. So I'm asking what can I do, I am a 6 level fighter that seem to do better in dealing a hell loud of damage but not enough defence's to last too long. started with 20k in gold and got some stuff that I thought would do well which only the armor seem to be the only thing I feel thats not helping me but not fully sure how to get a better armor class. Im looking for a way to have high defences and attack damage at the same time. Stats:
Race: human (Race stat +2 Str)
Class bounce feats-
Weapon Training: Blades, Heavy Feats-
Magical Itams-
Gold left over-1,890 Thats what what I have in a nutshell, If theres a way to get a better touch AC in the level I am now or somthing more I can improve then tell me because I'm not fully sure what else to do.
As of now I have a weapon with Keen enchantment onto it give it a 15-20 chance to crit on a d20, I looked though some other stuff to see what might do well for my sword but my question is do they stake up in damage? Heres what I'm thinking of: Bane +2d6 damage.
Now then with all this if I hit my target would I able to basicly do 5d6 and 1d10(if crit) more damage with your weapon damage if it have all that? Or did I miss somthing saying it can't all that stake up?
Hello and and hope your having a good day, right then to the point. I'm needing some help in trying to make 2 characters, a freind of mind need a character for the campain with the part I'm. So the 2 I had in mind for her is ether a ranger and a gunslinger. I know dex would be the main stat for both but other then that I'm not sure what other stat be good. I'm mainly making them more of a damage deal with some rogue skills sense we dont have a rogue in the party. The stat numbers are 18, 18, 16, 14, 12, 10. The DM gave us each of those for stats so its pretty good numbers. So as I said I'm trying to make 2 pure class's with some rogue skills and do good range damage and 10k worth of gold to spin on magical items. I have a few ideas in mind but I would like some types and ideas from others to help give me a better idea what my freind could do. So any takers?
On the compain I'm doing now is basely we started as slaves in a mine unstil me and the party deside to get us and out familys out which we did. We basely later found out that basely the world is run by orc, I played a half orc barbarain which shortly after got killed, so now making a new level 3 character. I looked at some of the other class's and seen the Magus, love the idea of a mage/fighter all in one and thinking maybe a level of monk for the defence bonus but I'm not sure. I like being the tank/dps type of person, to have a high defence and doing a lot of damage and again I think the magus would do well for me but a few things I cant seem to understand such as what is the main stats for a magus, because what I figure right now I would need 4 main stats just to do what I'm thinking, STR- for damage and attack, DEX- for defense, WIS- defense bonus and INT- for spells. 18, 18, 16, 14, 10, 10 are my numbers for my stats I have yet to put on so my question is should I try doing a level of monk or just go pure magus and if so what main stats should I be going for? The other thing I am having a hard time understanding is the spell combat and spell strike class ability's. With spell strike I at first thought of using a 2-handed weapon to go along with it sense it doesn't word that you need only a one handed weapon but Spell combat state for its own thing you do. So my question for that is can you still do the spell strike fully with a 2 handed weapon and still able to use the spell at the same time or because of spell combat dose it have to be a one-handed weapon? Other then that if you have some suggestions of what I could or should do I be happy to hear it. |
