Summoner in armor

As a summoner I know I can wear light armor and not suffer arcane spell failure. My question is, does this extend to a buckler or other shields? Kinda hoping to reduce my natural squishiness.

No, it does not. But a mithril small shield gives +1 AC with no arcane spell failure chance for 1100gp.

Shields are not light armor, so no.

HOWEVER, a mithral buckler has a 0% spell failure chance, so there's your workaround.
