Planar Wild Shape

Rules Questions

1) Does my druid get SR, energy resistance and, the main thing - SMITE? If yes, does this smite ability recharges after new wild shaping?

2) Can I take resolute templte, for example? Would you allow it as GM?

Sovereign Court

1) You get SR, energy resistance, DR, and yeah, Smite. However, keep in mind that's not the same thing as Paladin Smite. It does only what it says in the template; it doesn't for example penetrate DR.

As for uses per day, it's a grey area but I'd bet on most GMs allowing it only once per day.

2) Not by the rules in the book. As a GM I'd be willing to talk about house ruling it.

I believe it falls under the FAQ for gaining limited daily uses temporarily, which adjudicates it as you predict.

The Concordance

Figuring out what your SR becomes is still the tricky part.

The SR is based off of CR right? The CR of a PC class with PC 'wealth by level' appropriate equipment is simply your character level. What else do you need to know?

The Concordance

That's not stated in any book I'm aware of.

It's actually a frequently asked question.

Using Character Level is a common practice, but if you search through the forums you'll find different answers by different Developers over the years.

And there are ways for your Animal Companion to gain SR as well. They have the same problem.

Sovereign Court

Use the rules for estimating the CR for an NPC. For PCs it's really not a complicated question.

For animal companions it's murkier since as class features they officially have "CR -", as seen in many adventures.

Gamemastering on the CRB gives us the info on PC CR.

A creature that possesses class levels, but does not have any racial Hit Dice, is factored in as a creature with a CR equal to its class levels –1. A creature that only possesses non-player class levels (such as a warrior or adept) is factored in as a creature with a CR equal to its class levels –2.

while a classed NPC that instead has gear equivalent to that of a PC (as listed on Table: Character Wealth by Level) has a CR of 1 higher than his actual CR.

Animal Companions there is no information for. The ACs HD (being generous), HD-1 (probably most likely), HD-2 (a bit mean, but supportable as they have no wealth of their own) are all arguable options.
