There is the Ability in question:
At 2nd level, the cavalier can spend a standard action to extol his own accomplishments and battle prowess. He receives Dazzling Display as a bonus feat. He does not need a weapon in hand to use this ability.
And for Disheartening Display it specifically states: Prerequisite(s): Dazzling Display, Weapon Focus, base attack bonus +6, proficiency with chosen weapon.
Which would seem to indicate that Weapon Focus is only a requirement insofar as it is related to your chosen weapon. The Order of the Cockatrice specifically sidesteps this nuance what's more can use it as a standard action.
I have a build that I am working on where obviously if I can skip taking weapon focus I would like to, but I am not sure if that's possible.

Actually bonus feats do not bypass the requisites unless they specify so. So, even Dazzling Display needs you to have a Weapon Focus, even if you then can use it unarmed.
I do not believe this to be the intention in this case; however, I should be getting to bed, and unfortunately, do not have the time to sort it out.
I recommend getting a second opinion. ^_^
