character build advice

Ello Ello, I getting set for a Legacy of Fire, I've decided on a elemental scion suli magus but I have no idea how to go about building it. All advice is welcome.

Everyone seems to think all thats required for a build is a race and a class. It is helpful to know what you expect your character to do.

Yeah, I've played a magus before, but this one looks like a really cool archetype and i wanna give it a try

What i really want to know is the why of your character. What's his/her story, then we can figure out what your character build will be.

I guess that's what I look for advice on, I know how well the magus can combine sword and spell but I not sure what my expectations are

I'm not familiar with the archetype, but the cookiecutter standard Magus build is DEX scimitar wielder with lots and lots of intensified shocking grasps.

Typical combat round with that build would be:

Turn 1: Full round action activate Spell Combat, Cast intensified Shocking Grasp, spellstrike it swinging with your scimitar, hope you crit, enjoy the crit damage of the intesified shocking grasp going off, on top of the crit damage of the scimitar. Then continue your spell combat to get your full round attack action with the scimitar.

Keep in mind, if you missed your spellstrike, the shocking grasp would still be on the weapon, so whenever you do hit with it, it will go off.

The character's background is a mystery to even himself. He was found in the desert by Haleen and a Gnoll surrounded by blood, bodies and no memory of who he is( only one who has that knowledge is the dm). All he knows is a name, his capabilities with weapons and spells. He feels a sense of responsibility to find Haleen, since she rescued him from the desert healed his wounds and was trying to help him recover his memory, at least until her her mood grow dark.

Scimitar with lotsa Shocking Grasps. STR-Build is possible, but Slashing Grace is better.
