Hey Pathos, there is a very different set of circumstances between someone posting spam on our forums and the integrity of our internal data.
The forums are a public forum; the spammers are, at a mechanical level, using it in exactly the way it is intended. There is no security to breach because we want people posting to them. This is why the counter measures we have put in place allow them to spam but then remove them (before they ever appear to most users when the system is running normally). If we made the forums hard to post to, then our users would suffer from that same restriction. From time to time the spammers find ways to cloak their posts from our counter measures and we tweak things to penetrate their latest efforts and so the process goes.
This is a very different thing from your personal data, which actual does have security around it and is not intended to be publically accessible.
