witches and racial spells

Rules Questions

I was wondering if witches can select racial spells like Touch of combustion without being of the actual race... i found a lot of these spells "witchery" and i would love to add some to my 1t level witch that is starting kingmaker in a few weeks

That is dependent on your GM.

Typically the requirements for your character knowing the spell are:

Is it on your class spell list?

Is it the correct level to know the spell? (ie. can your character with its class levels cast spells from that tier?)

Is your ability score high enough to cast spells of that level?

And for some home tables and all PFS tables, do you own the source material.

Racial spells add another check you have to pass. Are you the correct race to know this spell? If the answer to any of these questiosn is no, then you can not know the spell.

However, if it is a home game then your GM has the power to hand wave any or all of these requirements whenever he/she chooses.

tl;dr - ask your GM if they will allow it.

There is no text to support a yes answer to that question.

RAW is that the spell was originally designed for ifrits, and that with GM permission you may learn it. So the answer, by RAW, is "You can learn it if your GM allows it".

Personally, I rule that such spells, archetypes, etc are only common for that race and while rare for others, other races can still take them (PCs being that rare exception in the world).
