If I have a PC who's character is firing a long or short bow more that once per round as a full round action, how many attacks of opportunity does the threatening enemy with Combat Reflexes generate? Pg 180 of the PHG indicates "This feat does not let you make more than one attack for a given opportunity..". Pg 181 shows the actions a character can make during one round and one "action" being attack - not the amount of attacks being attempted.
On Table 8-2 indicates the actions that are classified as an opportunity. A standard action - attack (range) causing an AOO, but as a full-round action the chart indicates that performing a full attack does not cause any AOO.
Would it make sense to say that the first attack of a full-round ranged attack action would cause an AOO but the remaining attacks would not as it is the action of attack with the ranged weapon that generates the AOO and not the individual attacks from the bow? Some clarification would be great.

I have no real answer for you but this thread has what are probably all the good arguments each way (and some bad ones). It's old, but I know of no FAQ/errata that might have changed anything relevant. Enjoy ;)

Performing a full attack action does not provoke, but each ranged attack you make does provoke.
Lets assume the archer is using a bow, is level 6, and has rapid and many shot.
He can shoot 4 arrows on a full attack, but only three of those provoke because manyshot is one attack.
Let's take another example, and change the bow to a light crossbow and change the feats to rapid reload and rapid shot.
He can make three attacks, but each attack will provoke twice: once for the ranged attack, and once for the reload.
