You offer people a better life, where everything is simple, where they don't have to deal with annoyances and other energy draining obstacles. You invite them to your temple to stay for as long as they please, they'll have everything they need: water, food and company. In this temple, they will learn the ways of living simple and good lives. They will learn that they're not like the others. Those who can't understand what's important and what is not. They are special, because they chose right.
If they want to leave and return to their former lives, they'll just have to finish the training before leaving, you wouldn't want them to walk away half empty-handed, it will only take a few more days, or maybe weeks, months or maybe even years to complete. If they really just want to get away and not finish the training, inform them that interrupting their learning can be seriously damaging for their health and that they may be unable to turn back to their other life or return to the learning again. They will live lives in pain, or even not live at all (of course you kill all deserters, just don't tell them that).
And when they've learned, they will know that there is no simple and good life, at least not yet. Not until YOU get the power to make all life simple, and good. And you will get the power, they just need to perform the good act of suicide, or maybe you should call it spiritual transcendence, in the name of prosperity, greatness and most of all: goodness.
