I dont normally play Rangers so i was a little thrown off when i came across this line in the combat style introduction paragrpah, "He can choose feats from his selected combat style, even if he does not have the normal prerequisites." I assumed at first it meant you do not need to meet the requirements for the feats granted by iterations of Combat Style Feat but then the thought occured to me that per the wording it looks like you could there after spend a regular feat towards a combat style feat that has been unlocked without needing to meet the prereqs.
I was looking through this all as a player of a Sanctified Slayer. That archetype gets talents at levels 8, 16, 17 and 20 that can be used for Ranger Combat Styles (an Inquisitor passing as a Slayer, passing as a Ranger) If that second thought is correct than even though i dont pick up any combat style feats between levels 8 and 16 i can still spend feats to grab the styles withtout meeting prereqs for them.
Does that make sense?

Not entirely.
The ranger can ignore prerequisites for combat style feats so long as he picks these feats up using the combat style class feature. That means that only feats from the ranger class (or inquisitor, in that case) benefit from being able to be taken without prereqs.
If he takes a combat style feat using his regular feats or feats from another class, he must qualify normally.

Thats what i had thought but the wording in the actual ability seperates them out into their own sentences, just listing it as another thing that happens when you choose your combat style. I am wondering if there is any clarification of this beyond a commonly held perception. for what its worth i dont think it would ever be an issue except for archetypes that dont get access to many combat style feats.
further clarifying, the character i am playing is a two handed fighter so there arent that many feats i qualify for early anyways. maybe if i wanted to skip furious focus or something and still get dreadful carnage. anyways, the point is more about rules curiousity than for a planned build.
