Warlock build for Pathfinder?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Hey nice Pathfinder-people,

A player in my new Pathfinder Campaign wants to play a (WoW-inspired) Warlocky-type class. Any of you have some class/race/archetype advice on that?
Please?

Summoner.

Alas, we already have a summoner in our group, and the player wants to do some life drain, fire damage, curses etc. Any thoughts on that?

Druid. It isn't a demon, but an animal companion mechanically does the same thing as an eidolon (more or less).

Life drain-Heal spells/Inflict spells
Fire damage-Produce Flame, Flamestrike etc
Curses-um...Contagion... check the spell list, they have options.

Being able to shapechange is just a bonus I guess. :D

A witch. Using the elements patron will grab you some extra fire based spells. Using the Cartomancer Archetype will let you deliver some of your nastiest curses at range as well. oh, and shocking grasp at range too.

Yeah i was gonna say Witch lol. That was my first thought lol. Witchs are all about hexes, curses, and debuffs.

The shaman is also a close analogy. Despite the name, the shaman is nothing like WoW shammy.

Of want to be a bit more combat-y also, the Hexcrafter Magus is very good. They get the witchs hexes, all curse spells ever, and can channel curses through combat.

But my favorite part of the WoW Warlock is the pet... how do you reproduce that with a Witch?

Summoner really is ideal, too bad you can't have two in the party.

Hm... well the only real way to get a combat worthy pet is Summoner, Hunter, Druid, or getting an animal.compaion through feats
