Are the extra talent feats too powerful?

So as to not derail the monk thread to much, this thread is for discussion on specifically the notion that the Extra X feats were too powerful and as such, future feats need to get toned down (as we see wit all the restrictions on the Knieticist feat) or just not exist at all (as is highly likely for the Vigilante).

Do you think they are/were too powerful or is this a whole lot of Hwash (:p)?

Too powerful this, underpowered that, it averages if everyone agrees to optimize equally.

I generally prefer for these feats not to exist, often because I end up taking 3 - 5 every game.

I think they should throw out the feat system all together. The only classes that benefit outside of the extra talent feats are casters because for some reason they just get better feats with no prerequisites. The feats are a lie ladies and gents.

The main problem is most feats are garbage and not worth taking.

Unless you cast spells, then feats are amazing.

Extra Rage Power yes. Extra Rogue Talent no. Those are just off the top of my head. It's far too diverse to give a clear answer. When most of <class> take Extra <class feature>, either the feat is too good or there aren't any other good feats to take. If nobody takes the feat it's probably not good enough or the class feature sucks.

If more feats were worth taking, we wouldn't see people taking these so many times. It just shows that there's a lot of bad feat design in the system, not that these feats are really overpowered unless we're comparing some of them to the trash that passes as a 'decent' feat.

I myself like the feat system, but I'd like it more if more feats were valuable.
