Basic Pyrokinesis - Light cantrip

So basic pyrokinesis states that the light you create with the wild talent produces heat like a normal flame.

Does that mean that the object I attach it to burns up/melts if it isn't sufficiently resistant to fire?

Yeah, you're creating actual fire, so you can't just use like the usual cantrip. You can pretty much always make a torch though.

Technically, you can cast it on the tip of a sword, and it would catch on fire, since the 1d3 damage it would cause would be reduced to about 1/4, which never beats the sword's hardness.

Yeah, some items are too hard to take fire damage, but the point is that i can't just put it on any item without destroying the item.

If you or any of your party members is a Tiefling, Ifrit, or Suli and/or has fire resistance, you can light them on fire.

Cast Book Ward on whatever you need then light it up.
