Howdy thought I would ask these to make sure i'm not misunderstanding things prior to explaining to someone about it. Well I'm the one with the necro question but the rest i'm confirming.
Occultist questions
So you get an a new implement at 1,2,6,10 and so on (every 4). If you rechoose a school do you only gain the extra spells of each level you can cast? There is no other reason to rechoose a school?
At first I thought you gained another focus power when you rechose the same school. But that is not correct right?

Spells known: So you chose an implement. You gain 1 spell of each level you can cast at the time. When you learn a new spell level you chose 1 spell from each school you have of that level. (plus extras for chosing a school multi times).
Then you get the usual “switch a spell of the same level and school” thing.
That is it only correct? You gain no bonus extra spells in any other fashion right?

When you chose an implement. You gain the resonant power (Well you have to put points into it) and the base focus power right?

As a standard action, you can expend 1 point of mental focus to raise a single human skeleton or human zombie from the ground to serve you for 10 minutes per occultist level you possess or until it is destroyed, whichever comes first. This servant has a number of hit points equal to 1/2 your maximum hit point total (not adjusted for temporary hit points or other temporary increases). It also uses your base attack bonus and gains a bonus on damage rolls equal to 1/2 your occultist level. At 5th level, whenever the necromantic servant would be destroyed, if you are within medium range (100 feet + 10 feet per level) of the servant, you can expend 1 point of mental focus as an immediate action to cause the servant to return to full hit points. At 9th level, you can choose to give the servant the bloody or burning simple template (if it's a skeleton) or the fast simple template (if it's a zombie). At 13th level, when you take an immediate action to restore your servant, it splits into two servants. You can have a maximum number of servants in existence equal to 1/2 your occultist level. At 17th level, the servant gains a teamwork feat of your choice.
The wording of this.. "from the ground"
Does that mean you can use it anywhere and its assumed some humanoid died there at some point in all of history. Or is it like raise dead where you have to make a corpse first (and by the wording i guess bury it)
I read it as "assume there was something there at some point" Whats everyone elses thoughts?

How do people feel about the base focus power for Evocation? I can’t tell if it is nifty, or if the damage will be too variable to be useful.. But I think it’ll be pretty decent since it gets a lot of Die, sorta like a long range un metamagic-able shocking grasp of any element.. but after level 5 most of the time that bomb aoe one would be more useful.. ?
