Hi everyone. I'm soon to start Kingmaker. The rest of my group includes a druid, a zen archer, and a phalanx soldier (with another player still undecided).
I've read that ideally one of the players should be the king, and that having a high charisma is useful in that role. Since none of the other characters seem a good fit in that regard, I thought about taking the crown myself. A charisma-based character with high diplomatic skills is what I'm going for. I would like to be the party face (with maximized diplomacy and sense motive) and the group's library (with an almost absolute chance to succeed in any important knowledge check), because I figure those would be important skills for the king's work (I have never played the campaign, so please correct me if you think I'm wrong). On combat, I would like to focus on controlling with debuffs and other spells.
All these things considered, I was thinking about building a psychic searcher oracle with the lore mystery. Lore mystery makes me a beast with knowledge skills, and psychic searcher greatly improves my social capabilities (especially now that the ACG errata has made clear that inspiration is based on charisma). I would like your advice on things that you think can be improved in order to fill these roles, and on the blank feats that I still haven't decided (possibly some metamagic?). If anyone has played the campaign and feels some things will be useless/greatly missed, I would also appreciate a spoiler-free heads up.
Human psychic searcher oracle. STR 12, CON 14, DEX 8, INT 12, WIS 10, CHA 17+2 (20 point build). Curse: Haunted. Mystery: Lore.
Feats: Noble Scion - CHA to initiative (1), Extra Revelation - Focused Trance (1, extra human feat), Steadfast Personality (3), Extra Revelation - Empathy psychic talent (5), Extra Revelation - Eidetic Recollection psychic talent (7), ? (9, 11, 13, 15, 17).
Revelations: Sidestep Secret (1), Perceptive Tracking psychic talent (4), Lore Keeper (7), Automatic Writing (11), Think on it (15).
What do you think? Many thanks in advance for your help!

Thanks for the answer. I wonder if negotiation plays a big role in the campaign or rather the bonuses to diplomacy and sense motive gained from the psychic searcher archetype are unnecessary. Also, I wonder if diplomacy and sense motive are enough or if things like bluff and intimidate would be of help. Finally, I would also like to improve my combat utility, although if the average is only one encounter per day (or so) I think an oracle should do fine.

I would keep the diplomacy as high as you can it can be a very useful skill for the ruler and in relation to combat the AP is not as combat heavy as some but it is there and it can have tough moments although your part appears to be well balanced so don't spread yourself thin. As for the feats this is the AP for making magic items as you have time and resources and a lore oracle has access to nearly every spell(GM dependent of course).

I'm guessing I will add craft wondrous items at level 9, then. I think it's the best crafting feat, since most of the magic items a character ends up with are wondrous items.
If the campaign is not that focused in combat, I guess metamagic feats are not such a big necessity, then. Boy, it's been a while since the last time I didn't know what to spend my feats on...

Thanks for the languages tip! I'll try to add some linguistic skill ranks (which probably means I'll definitely forget about Bluff and Intimidate, and hope Diplomacy and Sense Motive are enough for the king's role).
To be honest, this is not the build I would have chosen for PFS or a "normal" campaign. I would have focused more on combat utility, and a bit less in out of combat capabilities (I think some of the social and knowledge bonuses for my build might be overkill in most other games). This is the first time I'll play Kingmaker, and I still have doubts about including some combat oriented feats (metamagic or not) earlier in the build. Although I've never played an oracle before so I don't know which ones to choose anyway.

The great thing about oracles is that they're all different and endlessly customizable. It may be that you decide that you just want to dip Lore Oracle Psychic Searcher for two levels (enough to get the inspiration dice) and then go with something more combat oriented for later levels. Or pick up something else.
My pyschic searcher lunar oracle has a strength of 16, int of 14 and a charisma of 17 but her dex is a 7... Thank goodness for certain Oracle revelations! I decided that lunar oracles had more melee-oriented revelations and so I needed a decent strength to pull one up.
You can build just about anything with an oracle. Between all the mysteries, curses and archetypes, there is no one true build. That is what I love about them!

Not especially overkill in any campaign where you're looking to skill-monkey a little.

It wouldn't hurt too deeply. You have your most important attribute to much of the necessary stuff. Though metamagic is something that can probably wait until 7 in any case - given you're not even look at 3rd level spells until 6th. Unless you're planning to play with conjuration a lot; a caster-focused build doesn't have masses to invest feats into anyway. A clever selection of spells is more than enough to make yourself felt in combat (even if the first couple of levels might not seem it due to not having many/day).
