Making a legion that my group is gonna have to fight need unit advice

There basically a society that worships the moon God (lunaris) and believe wolves to be a suymbol of the diety as well that's why they're known as The Pack they are mainly a tribal society that has recently adapted to crafting to fight there enemy Children of Dawns Light (CODL)

So I've already got the basic units done and I need major help with the advanced/elite units there gonna have to fight

The first one is a unit named terror hounds captains of the main army who are mainly melee oriented troops or even ranged oriented

And then there are hell hounds elites of the terror hounds who are known for killing there own troops every once and awhile to keep the others in line and usually are given the best equipment

Basically I'm trying to decide do I really have to name all of these guys or should I just name the important ones? And should they adapt more and more as they begin learning from the CODL

P.s. This is only the melee units I'll have the rest up tommorow

You don't have to name all the troops, just the important ones. Your players will appreciate the flavor from the names of important enemies they should know. Any NPC that is not important enough for them to remember, does not need a name. Keep a list of random names just in case the party wants a name you don't have prepared.

Naming everyone/everything is a lot of work for you. Telling your group every single drop of informational fluff just comes off in big info drops where their minds will glaze over. Save yourself the trouble and them the boredom. Than way, when they hear a name, they know it is important and will write it down.

I either make my own lists or get lists from online for names and possible cool titles. If the players get inquisitive I assign a name to the NPC in question. Players seem to really like it.

I give a unit name to a type of unit that I use a lot for the ability to quick reference it and then I give a name to individual characters who have a role to play beyond target #whatever. This usually falls under leaders and elite minions.
