Will the eye for talent racial trait work with the new alchemist homunculus

Not by RAW, as it's not on Eye for Talent's specific list.

That said, in home games, it wouldn't be unreasonable to allow (even if it doesn't 100% fit with the fluff; after all, neither do figment familiars).
