Our group ran this last night. The first time, it sucked.
Mostly because all our Cures were stuck to be bottom of our decks, I didn't get my Attack spells in time. And our strategy for defeating the Armies were pretty bad - I kept trying to use Divine even though it was a 16 check.
The second time, we had a better Army defeating strategy - the Rogue uses the 12 Stealth check instead and I use my spells for combat. It went much better. And also our Cures weren't stuck.
The 2 level deck upgrade progression is still meh for Zarlova :-/ I want spells and blessings...

My group has attempted this three times, and failed miserably all three.
Luckily Wrathack has a d8+2 fortitude (+4 with the mythic guardian path), but she still needs a blessing to attempt to get a 12. I ended up using a die bump on one because I was the only one who failed.
Next time we play that one we'll probably be splitting into two groups (one of 2 and one of 3) so more of us can do combat checks.

Don't forget as a Mythic Guardian you can spend a Mythic Point to make it a d20 + 4 in that situation. It's probably a good situation to use your mythic-ness.

That happened on another check, and my friend rolled a 1. On a d20. Fun times! I did expend a mythic charge and rolled an 18, so I know it's possible.
I know we'll get past it eventually. We've gone back to swashbuckling for now. :)

With 2 players, we found this to be really easy and had more than 1/2 the blessing deck available. Characters were Kyra and Agna.
In general, we completed AD 2 with 2 players and it felt too easy. We were never in danger at any point. I wish I had played a new tier 1 character, it was that easy.
It's gotten to the point where we feel we need 5+ players to make it challenging. It will probably be too challenging, but at least we won't stomp all over the scenario.
I almost forgot, we didn't use a single surge during the entire AD, not even the villains, we just forgot.
Also, I remembered the knights, but always after the roll. They weren't needed.
Armor is your friend.

Maybe, but it was ridiculous, almost like we were playing Runelords. I'll try it again with different characters this week!
I think it had a lot more to do with the fact that we could pick almost any check we wanted with the armies.
It also had a lot to do with the fact that we only needed to pass 2 checks to defeat the armies, less chance of something going wrong. I'm sure you're familiar enough with stats to agree.

Flenta actually died in this scenario when she tried it solo. The player was trying to impress a new player (to show him how to play the game) and died in the process. lol. Combination of pushing too hard and solo being a completely different playstyle, especially without support.
New player said "Wow, this game is tough!". Probably didn't help that we failed 1-1A right after.
Player didn't want to play Flenta anymore and made a new Valeros. Felt that Valeros would be more straightforward and easy to play.

Team: Arabundi, Ezren, CD Valeros, Haggal, Tarlin.
Result: Fail, a death and several near deaths.
Yup, tried this with 5 players and man, the armies are hard with 5-6 players. Couldn't even use the Banner of Valor with undead. Always seemed like *someone* would fail their check by 1-2 and then we would end up burying cards. Draining the location of boons helped in a way, but before we knew it we had buried 3 cards each which set the table for...
Arabundi dying. Yup, tier 1 character and wasn't watching his deck size. We had plenty of healing, but he had been playing Runelords, not OP. Welcome to OP!
Gave up and went back to complete AD1 for two of the characters.

First time I did this, we had CD-Kyra take Melee, CD-Valeros take Fortitude, leaving two Combats for CD-Lem and WotR-Kyra. That was the only way we could make it work.
We succeeded on the first try, though.
Second time, there was only two of us (CD-Sajan and Meliski), so it wasn't nearly such a challenge.

She might as well have taken a 12 check.I remember this coming up, and I forget why things went the way they did. She may have had no spells handy when we hit the armies.
