Is it possible for a PC to take..let's say....Summoner class with the archetype of Master Summoner, could he take two levels in Master Summoner then Take 3 levels in regular summoner?

No. When you take an archetype, you are altering the base class forever. In your example, that's summoner. You make the decision before gaining the first altered feature of the class. But the archetype is still the base class. So you're either a regular summoner or a master summoner.

While the text about archetypes in the Advanced Player's Guide doesn't specifically rule that out, nor does the FAQ, I (as a GM) would be inclined to say no. I don't know what PFS says on the matter (though again, I imagine no).

Sounds like something that a) should be FAQ'd and until then is b) up to your GM.

the game considers the class as the same class, so when you choose to take another summoner level, you don't get the level 1 benefits again ever, you just get a higher effective level in your class, this means you can't take differing archetypes.
