PC help - Scout with some magic

Advice

Ok, I’m now looking at a character for a PbP in the Shattered Star AP. (I don’t know it, so please don’t spoil anything for me.)

They have most roles covered pretty well except no scouting capability. I actually don’t mind rogues, even without Unchained. But so many people have this instant ‘that sux’ mentality when they are even brought up, that I think it would be a poor choice. Besides which, I usually don’t like playing a character that doesn’t have at least some magic. I considered investigator, but they already have a full alchemist and I don’t want to seem to step on toes with the alchemy stuff.

So I was thinking about an inquisitor of Gozreh hunting those that despoil the natural world. Built for tracking and hunting. Maybe even take one of the druid domains instead of an inquisition for a sneaky familiar like monkey for a sneak partner.

What do you think? Work ok for the AP storyline? Seem like it could be effective?

The ap would serve a treasure hunter kind of PC well as far as personality goes

Hmm... what deity and domain/inquisition would match with a treasure hunter type personality?

I can easily see it with an arcane trickster type, but I'm having a harder time imagining that with an inquisitor.

Maybe I should just go for arcane trickster then.

An archaeologist bard would bring a lot of the same goodies to the table as an inquisitor (6 level caster, 3/4 BAB with self buffs, lots of skills, etc), but might be easier to work out the flavor for.

I'm not exactly in love with the bard class, but the archeologist isn't as bad as some. And it does seem to fit the profile pretty well.
